Divinely Discontent

It seems like when I mention this subject, some people take a deep breath and breathe in the words I am saying.   I can feel their hearts, as if they are drinking my words like cool water after having walked through the desert for miles. Many are divinely discontent and they just needed to know they are not alone in this experience.

If this is you – you are not alone. Everywhere I go, everywhere I look, I discover Christians who are divinely discontent.   It takes one to know one, so I can discern them very quickly.

Divine Discontentment is an incurable HOLY heart condition with symptoms that may include the following:

  • It feels like your spiritual appetite is greater than the meals being served from the pulpit.  The church is beautiful, the Pastors are beautiful, the people are beautiful, the worship is amazing, but something is missing. You just need more.
  • You are going “through the motions” in your walk in the Lord and your roles in the church. But you know there is more to this. There has to be more.
  • You are weary from “Churchianity”.  You need something real.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but there is nothing I can say to cure this condition, because it truly is a divine and holy condition placed in your heart by the Lord.

So why has the Lord pained us with divine discontentment? Because He is preparing to use us for a move of His Spirit, and one of the keys to this powerful move is what I call the Seekers Key.

If you are divinely discontent then it is because the Lord has given you the seekers key, which means He has enabled you to seek Him with everything that is within you – your heart, soul, mind, and body.

He is not allowing you to be fulfilled because He wants you to hunger for Him and to seek Him so you can discover the depths of His heart; to know the depths of His personality. He wants you to hunger for His mysteries that He longs to share with you.

He wants you to mature in your relationship with Him to become His friend and His confidante.

He wants you to seek Him, and those who do shall find Him and discover His immeasurable and deep love, and this will cause you to share heart to heart with Him, and love to love.

When you find Him, you will love Him in greater measure than you have in the past, and you will love yourself, thus you will love mankind in ways you never thought you could. In turn, this love will be unleashed and the glory of God shall cover the earth as the waters cover the seas!

Perhaps down the road, I can write even more on this subject, but for now I will leave you with this: When you seek Him, you will find Him, and when you find Him you have to have more of Him, thus we are ever divinely discontent.

Scripture

I will get up now and go about the city and, through its streets and squares; I will search for the one my heart loves, so I looked for Him but did not find Him. The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city. “Have you seen the one my heart loves?” Scarcely had I passed them when I found the one my heart loves. I held Him and would not let him go….Song of Solomon 3: 2-4

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after you. Psalm 42:1
